What does this actually block?
Datante uses ControlD under the hood with curated blocklists tuned specifically for IoT and smart-home devices. It blocks telemetry pings, ad-targeting beacons, behavior-tracking requests, and connections to known data-broker servers — the kind of traffic your TV sends without asking you.
Will it slow down my internet?
No. DNS lookups happen in milliseconds and are a tiny fraction of your network activity. Datante's resolvers are globally distributed, so in practice most customers see no perceptible difference in speed — and a modest improvement in page-load times from blocked ad scripts.
